Routing Update!

Yeah I'll have to call- if anyone else is interested.

I prefaced my email to them that I was part of the BMW Motorcycle club that was coming from May 16-17th.

Dan,

When you make the reservation please call them and make sure you let them know you are with the group.

I emailed them and they said lean-to's are a 4 person minimum, $35 per person and a $35 "hook up fee"($175 plus tax for the night/4 people).

This is more than 2 nights that Mike just found online...

So if anyone wants to get in on that, let me know so we can get it reserved for however much it is 🤷🏻‍♂️

Anyone booking accommodations should CALL it seems the rates are lower and you may be able to book a single night.

You DO NOT need to call if you are camping, that is included with your registration.

I went through the process of making a reservation on their site just to see, it explains the lean-to, they're three-sided. They accommodate four people. It wouldn't let me do one night, for two nights it was $159. I'm a tenter, anyway, but was just curious.

The original email blast that I sent out stated the event registration includes tent camping. Typically one half of the registrants tent camp. The blast also had alternate lodging examples of which I am reposting here. We already have registrants choosing to stay at a chain hotel in Milford NY. There are quite a few to choose from. Those would be 15 to 20 minutes away. I have also posted the lowest registrations prices feasible for a new venue.

This is what I located.

Thank you. I just sent them a message to inquire about the lean-to's. That would be perfect.

I'll post up what I find out.

If you look at the map there are two lean-tos on the left where it say's towpath, then there are two RV spots then the cabins C4 thru C1 the two spots A1 & A2 I have no idea what the A is for.

Then there are RV 4 to 1 and across the drive there are 4 more RV sites. The pavilion is going to be set in on the area of the RV sites. The blue squares are tent sites.

That is what I was told by Nick. This way we can all be close to the Pavilion/Tent and restroom and showers. Anyone who needs power for a CPAP can camp on or adjacent to an RV site. The RV sites also have water.

Erin told me cabins start at $315 for the queen Cabin plus sofa bed. I think she said $409 for the King cabin plus sofa bed but I do not believe that included any fees or taxes.

There are a couple Lean-to's but we did not check them out.

I would call regarding pricing on the cabins... I think Bernie got a lower price than that.

Keep in mind this has become a resort area post Covid... It seems all of the city folks discovered the area looking to get out of Dodge.

Do we know if they have any cheaper cabins or lean-to's or anything like that? Comes out to $545 after taxes for a cabin for the night...

BTW They have cabins on both sides of the road... But we will be waterfront.

Correct Mike,

We are or will be on the Resort side right on the river...

Depending on where you look it up it may be called out as "Jerry's Three River Campground and Canoe Rental" that is what it is on Basecamp even on the latest map update. Google maps has it listed as The Outpost Resort.

Hey Wayne,

I looked it up, so we're on the Outpost "Resort" side? There's an Outpost across the road with a restaurant and cabins and it looks like there's a campground across the road from the river side. They all come up when I search the address. Just wanted to confirm we're going to be on the "resort" on the river?

Thanks.

Mike

FYI...

The rough draft of the routing was navigated last weekend (2/28 & 3/1)...

In general the route is great but we identified a few sections of Rough Roads, Dirt Roads, A trip through a golfing community with speed bumps every 1/8th mile, etc.

There were some busy intersections without traffic lights, and and several intersections which had sharp turns with poor visibility as well.

The route has been reworked to avoid these hazards and Multiple POIs have been added for fuel, etc.

I am confident the route is 99% DONE at this point with only one more pre run required a few weeks before distribution to be sure there are no detours due to road work, etc.

Stay Tuned for updates!
